Secondary Programs

Secondary school camp programs are generally based vertically meaning  students have the opportunity to increase their skills in particular activities through appropriate sequencing of activities.

Activities available for the construction of group programs

Group Staff Activities

(All these activities can be run be group staff after a briefing and a explanation to students and staff)

Specialized Activities

(These activities are run by Karoonda Park Staff)

Ropes Course

Horse Riding

  • One hour trail ride down to the abseiling cliff to swap with the group that is there abseiling

  • Longer rides negotiable

Initiative Course

  • The initiative course is basically group problem solving scenarios designed to foster group communication and teamwork.

 

 

 

Abseiling / Rockclimbing / Caving

Introductory abseil at Karoonda Park , then:-

Day of Climbing ,Abseiling, and Caving at Devils Rock  Buchan. All day activity suitable for up to Forty students 

Includes

  • Thirty metre abseil

  • Caving at Wilson's Cave

  • Four or five Rock climbs

Orienteering (Several Course) 

  • Map Only

  • Compass Only 

Rafting - (Optional overnight camp on the Snowy River)

  • Rafting at the Pinch Gorge with a reasonably quite morning on grade 2 rapids building up to some larger rapids after lunch.

Yabbying

Farm Activities (Sheep shearing, Bull showing, Horse shoeing, etc)

Climbing Wall

Walks in the High Country

(Alpine and Snowy River National Park) 

  • Walk to the Rams Horn (easy/moderate)

  • Walk to Mt Cobbera  (moderate/hard)
