Victoria's largest National Park is only a short distance
to the north of Gelantipy. Here lies some of the most remote wilderness
areas in the Australian Alps. Awesome views are gained from the alpine,
sub alpine and high peaks of Mt Cobbera, Mt Stradbroke, Wombargo Peak
and Rams Horn. The Cobbera Wilderness Area and Alpine National Park
borders the New South Wales Kosciuszko National Park, home to Australia's
Highest Mountain.
Trips are geared for those of average fitness, with time taken to appreciate the stunning scenery and other points of interest en route. Brumbies [wild horses] inhabit the area, and at times are lucky enough to be seen. This is a special place in so many ways.
